My teaching experience spans both undergraduate and graduate nursing education. At New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing, I served as an Assistant Adjunct Professor and taught Introduction to Palliative Care to both bachelor’s and master’s nursing students. In this role, I developed and delivered content focused on serious illness communication, symptom management, interdisciplinary collaboration, advance care planning, and person-centered approaches to care for individuals with serious illness and their families. Teaching provided an opportunity to translate evidence into practice and foster the next generation of nurses equipped to provide high-quality palliative care across healthcare settings.
My educational philosophy emphasizes the integration of clinical expertise, evidence-based practice, and compassionate care. I am particularly passionate about mentoring students and trainees interested in aging, serious illness, and palliative care research. Through formal teaching, research mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration, I strive to help learners develop the skills necessary to address complex healthcare challenges facing older adults and their caregivers.
As I pursue a career as an independent nurse scientist and academic leader, I hope to continue teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. I view education as a critical component of advancing the field of palliative care and am committed to training future clinicians and researchers who will improve care for older adults living with serious illness and multimorbidity.
