I am a lifelong caregiver, and that experience shapes the core of my work. As a Registered Dietitian and faculty member trained in prevention science and health promotion, I focus on families who are aging with disability, especially those navigating intellectual and developmental disabilities across the lifespan. I study how caregiving responsibilities evolve as both the caregiver and the adult with disabilities grow older together, and how daily routines, nutrition, movement, and practical health behaviors support stability and wellbeing in aging households.
My work centers on low‑barrier, realistic strategies that help aging caregivers maintain their own health while supporting the changing functional needs of adults with disabilities. I pay close attention to the everyday patterns that influence resilience, safety, and healthspan over decades of caregiving. My goal is to strengthen the quality of life for families aging with disability and to bring visibility to the unique challenges and strengths of caregivers in later adulthood.
